Ex-Red Bull team boss Christian Horner is reportedly "contacting nearly every team principal" as he attempts a re-entry to F1, according to the Aston Martin team CEO Andy Cowell.

Aston Martin is included in the squads that have been linked with the former chief.

The team executive revealed he had verified the situation with squad proprietor Lawrence Stroll this past Friday at the Marina Bay race.

"It appears that Christian is getting in touch with most team bosses at the moment," said the executive.

"I can definitively state there are no plans for the engagement of Christian in an management or financial position in the future."

Haas boss Ayao Komatsu stated that Horner had "reached out to" the Stateside organization but added: "No progress has been made. The matter is closed."

The French manufacturer managing director Steve Nielsen mentioned the team's executive adviser and acting leader Flavio Briatore was "long-standing acquaintances" with the ex-boss.

The Alpine director continued: "I have no knowledge what they converse about. All I can confirm is there are no intentions for Christian to arrive at Alpine but that isn't to say it might not transpire."

The Grove-based squad boss James Vowles confirmed that the ex-chief had not reached out to them.

"We're very happy with the structure we have and it's effective," the Williams boss said. "I see no justification to modify it."

Horner is free to return Formula 1 by the second half of the coming year after completing a separation agreement with Red Bull on the 22nd of September.

The 51-year-old was dismissed as the team's leader after the Silverstone race in July.

Various insiders at the racing team have suggested the settlement package was estimated at 60m euros (52 million pounds).
