19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a challenging year, winning just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former coach Cervara.

Now working with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.

It is his maiden championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.

His defensive approach and frequent outbursts on court had led some to wonder if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

He came back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to force a decider.

The opponent saved four initial opportunities in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, he secured victory with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
